Annual Urban Poverty Forum

Sunday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00PM (Doors open at 12:30pm)
Town Hall Seattle • 1119 Eighth Avenue • Seattle, WA • 98101

The Mahogany Project will open this year's Urban Poverty Forum, bringing arts and edu-tainment to the discussion of  'Immigration Equity'.

Guest Artisits: Hamda Yusuf and Miski Ali.

Immigrants have a long history in contributing to society in a positive way. So why does equity remain an elusive principle to immigrants here in the United States of America? The unfortunate reality is that savage rhetoric, violence, poverty, and other roadblocks cast a shadow over their American landscape.

Please join us on Sunday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00PM at Town Hall to learn more about local grassroots efforts to alleviate hardship among immigrants.

Our speakers will be:
Silvia Gonzalez, Popular Educator at Casa Latina
Mahnaz Kourourian Eshetu, Executive Director of Refugee Women's and Family Alliance (ReWA)
Maru Mora-Villalpando, CEO of Latino Advocacy, LLC

Moderation by Misael Fajardo-Perez, Mission Developer at Celebration Lutheran Church
Translation provided by Cariño Barragan, Campaign Organizer at Casa LatinaComing Soon
